This Cookie Policy explains how Simply Link uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and platform at www.simply-link.co.uk.

We use only the authentication and security storage needed to run Simply Link. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and cookieless.

We do not currently use non-essential advertising, marketing, or analytics cookies. If we introduce non-essential cookies or tracking in future, we will request consent before enabling them.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function correctly, keep you signed in, and remember your preferences.

Cookies may be grouped into the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies - required for the site to function.
  • Functional cookies - improve usability but are not strictly required.
  • Analytics cookies - help us understand how the site is used.
  • Marketing cookies - used for advertising and tracking across sites.

Simply Link does not use marketing or advertising cookies.

2. Cookies we use

A) Strictly necessary authentication and security storage

This storage is required for Simply Link to function. It enables secure login, account access, and session persistence. Without them, you would not be able to sign in or use your dashboard.

Supabase authentication storage

We use Supabase as our authentication provider. Depending on the browser and integration, secure session information may be held in first-party cookies or browser storage to:

  • log you in securely
  • keep you logged in between page loads
  • maintain a secure session
  • verify your identity
  • help prevent unauthorised access

This storage is essential for platform security and is not subject to an optional-consent control. Blocking it in your browser may prevent you from signing in or using the dashboard.

B) Cookieless analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate use of Simply Link and improve performance and usability. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not identify visitors across different websites or different days.

Analytics data may include:

  • pages visited and basic navigation paths
  • referring site
  • coarse location, browser, operating system, and device type

We do not use this analytics data for advertising. Because this analytics is cookieless, there is no analytics cookie to accept or reject through an in-app control.

3. Third party cookies

We do not run advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or retargeting scripts.

The third-party technologies relevant to this policy are:

  • Supabase for secure authentication and session management.
  • Vercel Web Analytics for aggregate, cookieless website analytics.

Supabase processes authentication storage to support secure login, session handling, and access control. Vercel Web Analytics does not set analytics cookies.

4. How long do cookies last?

The length of time a cookie remains on your device depends on the type of cookie:

  • Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies may remain for a set period (for example from a few hours up to several months) unless you delete them.

Authentication cookies may refresh automatically to keep your session active while you are signed in. We only keep cookies for as long as necessary to operate the platform securely.

5. How to manage cookies

You can manage cookies and browser storage through your browser:

  • Adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies.

If you choose to block all cookies, Simply Link may not function correctly, as strictly necessary authentication cookies are required for secure access.

There is currently no in-app consent control because Simply Link does not enable consent-gated non-essential cookies or trackers. If that changes, consent will be requested before they are enabled.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if our use of cookies changes or if legal requirements are updated. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
